I love the little red corduroy jumper. I used to have one like that. It is quite a classic design for a little girl.

There is an excellent, related book by Canadian Carl Honore "Under Pressure
Rescuing Childhood from the Culture of Hyper-Parenting" of the same sentiment. A must read for any parent who puts value in letting their kids become who they really are and avoiding the pitfall of overplanning their kids' lifes. I found it a relief to read Honore's point of view because it made me realize I don't have to plan every moment of every day of my one-year-olds' life! He makes a point of how important it is we give our kids room to breathe in order to encourage creative thinking. Letting them make decisions for themselves is one way to nurture their self worth and allowing them to discover their potential.

Hi Maria
Thanks for the plug. I would say tho that the best part of fashion-incubator is what goes on behind the scenes in the member's forum. To join, one has to have purchased The Entrepreneur's Guide to Sewn Product Manufacturing. Btw, the site works hand in hand with the book and you get a lot more out of the site if you have it since the blog doesn't duplicate its content. Iow, fashion-incubator.com is a set of three tools and I'd encourage people to avail themselves to the full set of resources as they grow into need of them. Our results in nurturing start ups speaks for itself :).

best wishes for your continued success!

[...] I recently was fascinated to find out that some very perceptive mothers had come up with a line of toys called Taggies that had a lot of tags around them. The inspiration for this was their babies’ seeming fascination with chewing on labels. Kathe Kruse, the German toy maker, also had the same idea with their new line of toys called Labelies. They make soft toys and blankets with a lot of labels like this adorable toy dragon.
[...] Preparing to travel with a baby for the first time is no easy feat. Yet another challenge of holiday travel is figuring out how to breastfeed while on the go. One obvious difficulty is finding a place that is quiet and somewhat private. You can take the time to find these places when you’re out and about with no agenda but what happens when you’re in an airport waiting lounge or in a plane, for example, and your baby needs to eat NOW! You’re pretty much bound to your seat or not wanting to stray too far if you’re waiting to board a plane. Rest assured that you can still breastfeed comfortably in these situations. [...]
